BFC Resources

As part of The Coalition’s commitment to fostering ongoing learning and professional development, municipalities are encouraged to take advantage of the suite of tools and opportunities available to support their progress within the Bicycle Friendly Communities program.

Our team offers customized BFC workshops, hosted by The Coalition, in partnership with recognized experts including designated communities, delivered in your community, designed to help staff and local partners better understand the program framework, identify next steps, and develop practical strategies for advancing cycling initiatives. These sessions provide a collaborative space to explore successes, challenges, and best practices specific to your municipality.

Each session is designed in partnership with your municipality or region and in keeping with local needs and include an option focused on effective advocacy strategies for community advocates. They are designed to inspire and inform.

We also strongly recommend that municipal staff participate in The Coalition’s ongoing professional development opportunities—such as our webinar series, the Ontario Bike Summit, and the BFC Workshop held during the Summit. Each of these platforms offers valuable insights from leading practitioners, peer communities, and industry experts, supporting continuous learning and helping communities accelerate progress toward higher BFC designations.
